Dama Bianca Dama Nera
Dama Bianca and Dama Nera is a furniture component line that innovates the most ancient craft made techniques used to decorate Venetian glass. Its shapes and colours confer it a minimal taste. The allegory of colours and shapes is here reduced to a few essential signs with firm colours: Dama Bianca is dressed in gold white and Dama Nera is decorated with silver black.
Vases, picture frames, centrepieces and clocks: a common design features all these pieces. A simple geometric element, that is a golden rectangle on one side and a silver one on the other one, represents the neat evolution of grits in a modern reinterpretation of the Venetian classical style. The passage is slow, gradual and keeps a deep contact with its roots and tradition; the opposite side of the neat set of rectangles is once again featured by grits. If we take a look at the decorations, we discover the communicative value given by symmetry-asymmetry and order-chaos of the draught board and grits which, together with the positive-negative contrast of colours, represent the world of Dama Bianca and Dama Nera.
The research in design is not limited to each piece or to the communication of its values, but it goes far beyond all that. Indeed, the type of pieces developed for this line as well as their selected sizes have been designed thoroughly and aim both at exalting each single piece and, at the same time, at building up never-ending variations of matches, thus playing with only white elements, only black elements or with both of them.
